Tiny Rogue – A great Rouguelike game

Tiny Rogue – A great Rouguelike game by Ravenous Games

Tiny Rougue by Ravenous Games

the game is bit-sized, turn based roguelike which will keep you occupied for a long time to come. Tiny Rogue is a  great type of game which resembles like Microgue from Crescent Moon Games or The Nightmare Cooperative. Revenous games which is developed by League of Evil which is a  still great example for pixel art. Also I was sunned and intrigued to see Ravenous Games, Ravenous was now doing something completely different from what they had before, and I think moving into a different genre is a good thing for them. It’s a simplified dungeon crawler that sees you swiping around subterranean hell-holes, killing monsters and many more.

The game is standard roguelike game with each screen-sized chunk of the game is sort of a little puzzle. If you move next to an enemy it’ll attack you, so you need to think about how to position yourself.  The game doesn’t break any barriers but you see foundaton is solid you can try to take advance as far as possible in the dungeon, either attacking or moving or using an item in a turn, before all other enemies take their turn. The game becomes about finding  advantages like you hit enemies before they hit you, as you can stun enemies for several turns when you hit them.

The game gives you great experience by making use of items cleverly and attacks to get enemies into the right places. And a dagger tossed into nowhere might not hit anything, but the turn skip might put in the right place to solve the level and keep advancing. The whole combat system in gameplay of trying to be in a good positioning with enemies is the dominant system here, but a smart one as it constantly keeps you on your toes!. The goal is to get as many points as possible. Chests and enemy kills are big ways to get points, also there are some things comes in natural course, like random objective worth a large amount of points. when you certainly can avoid killing the dragon.  Each dungeon map in Tiny Rogue is presented in its entirety on the screen allowing you to see all spaces, enemies, and pick-ups at once.

You swipe in any direction to move your knight one spot at a time, and then watch as the enemies react. There are werewolves, ogres, dragons, ghosts and more with each having their own attack, movement, and defense style. and you’re just constantly trying to go onward, managing your items wisely so that you’re not left high and dry in a tough situation. and also getting killed is plus point which gives you experience with new perks with each level up. Also its really worth to kill instead of avoiding in the sense of experience and thrill the game is designed with only three hearts, and most enemies have around the same. You can quickly level up and unlock new abilities to get you right in the thick of things without much time at all. Main key of the game is Figuring out how to use the tools at your disposal to succeed is the core of the game.

Tiny Rogue is a great pick-up-and-play with one-handed portrait mode game, This is a fast game were you can swipe from anywhere to move, all other actions are achieved through tapping. The game is really great for roguelike experience lovers with quick fast moment and short enough that you can jump back into another one when done. Well, I guess it’s all about the size. A game of Tiny Rogue lasts a handful of minutes, it’s easy to pick up and play, but it’s got all of the core mechanics that make roguelikes so addictive. It’s basically a snack, but a pretty tasty one. but the advantage is that once you learn how the systems work, it’s just about mastering them and constantly performing.

The drawback over the long term might be that Tiny Rogue doesn’t have a whole lot of depth, Well, I guess it’s all about the size. A game of Tiny Rogue lasts a handful of minutes, it’s easy to pick up and play, but it’s got all of the core mechanics that make roguelikes so addictive. It’s basically a snack, but a pretty tasty one
